Miley Cyrus celebrated her 18th birthday by having a dance-off with her mother.

The singer-and-actress decided to have an party following the American Music Awards (AMAs) where she and Tish Cyrus competed on the dancefloor. Speaking before the bash, Miley said: “I’m going out dancing later – we rented out a space so all my friends can come. Me and my mom actually have choreography for the night later – everyone loves it when we dance in unison.”

Miley Cyrus treated her mother Tish to a girls' day out for Thanksgiving.

The 18-year-old reportedly splashed out on a pamper day for herself and her mum - who is in the process of being divorced by husband Billy Ray after 18 years ofmarriage.

A source told People the pair were spotted at a spa in their home town of Toluca Lake, California.

'Miley and her mum enjoyed pedicures and seemed very happy to spend some alone time,' the insider said. 'They kept chatting and were both in a great mood. Miley treated her mum and was very sweet and also left a great tip.'
